Alert: The BRASS-GIRDER 5.8.8 DLL
provided with the 5.1 Service Pack 1 may compute the incorrect moment capacity
as follows:
For steel structures in which Article 10.48.2.1 applies, the moment capacity calculated by BRASS-GIRDER 5.8.8 may be incorrect when all checks within that article are satisfied, except the spacing of lateral bracing check (Equation 10-101). When this condition occurs, the moment capacity from Equation 10-99 and Equation 10-103a should be considered. However, Equation 10-99 was not.
A replacement DLL (BRASS-GIRDER 5.8.9) implementing both equations will be available soon.

eNotification". We will be using this to send email notifications of
important issues to members of the list. We have initially populated the list

For users who have not yet run the PopulateSpanInfo utility program but who
plan on running it sometime in the future, a new version of the PopulateSpanInfo utility program is available in the Downloads
section. Remember NOT to run the the version of PopulateSpanInfo that
came on the CD-ROM. If you have already run PopulateSpanInfo, you do not
need to download this latest version (the only change was to fix a problem with
memory usage).
